<3 These are sets of paintings that I make as gifts to my daughter. The first set includes symbols and imagery I picked intuitively as I went and it was for her 1st birthday. The second set included a handful of magical tools and was for Yule. I have close ups of each from that set as well.
I wanted to make her “flash cards” which represented some of the more esoteric items and experiences our family cares about. Things you can’t find at the toy store! ;). She has really loved playing with these and can now join mama in smoke-less smudgings and lessons about our heritage! The themes are infinite, and you can either collaborate as much or as little as you’d like. These paintings are made ceremoniously and with intention and tons of love.
I use non-toxic acrylic paints, paper bags and then have them laminated. (The first set wasn’t laminated properly and the second set was done very well. I’m having the first set re-laminated by the better quality place, as they double seal them which makes super sturdy. As you can see with the first set they show more wear already.) I can also affix velcro to the backs and you can hang them as pictures in their rooms when not in use. The child’s name will appear where the blurred writing is in the photos.
